The procedures are simple and practical for daily operation by on-site maintenance staff.
Filter cleaning forms the most fundamental and critical maintenance step to ensure air quality and operational efficiency. Air filters trap airborne dust, hair, fiber debris and particulate contaminants. Neglected cleaning causes duct blockage, reduces heat exchange efficiency, lowers airflow and weakens temperature control performance. It also enables mold growth and odor emission that contaminate indoor air. In standard operating environments, clean filters every 15 to 30 days. Shorten the cycle to 7–15 days for dusty venues such as shopping malls, workshops and markets. Always cut off main power before cleaning. Open the access panel on the return air grille, take out the filter, rinse gently with low-pressure clean water. Use neutral detergent to remove stubborn dirt if necessary. Rinse thoroughly and air-dry naturally; never expose filters to direct sunlight or artificial heating. Reinstall only after complete drying.
Clean air ducts and exterior surfaces: wipe surface dust on supply and return grilles weekly using dry cloths to prevent dust from being drawn into the unit with airflow. Clear dust surrounding ceiling access openings quarterly to keep the exterior of the unit clean. Do not directly flush internal evaporators, fans or electrical components with water, which may cause short circuits and metal corrosion. If mild odors emerge from air outlets, spray dedicated air conditioner disinfectant lightly onto dried filters and run fan mode for circulation purification.

Inspect pipelines and structural conditions monthly, paying special attention to condensate drainage pipelines - the most failure-prone part of ceiling cassette units. Check whether drain pipes are bent, clogged or disconnected, and confirm no standing water in drain pans. Unclog drains promptly if water accumulates, to avoid mosquito breeding, mold formation or ceiling water seepage from overflow. Inspect suspension rods and fixing screws for looseness or displacement caused by operating vibration and tighten fittings when needed to reduce operational noise and unit shifting. Check insulation layers for peeling or damage to prevent condensation and water dripping on pipelines.
Electrical and operational maintenance: inspect power wiring, terminal blocks and control switches monthly. Watch for aging, discoloration, looseness and overheating of wires. Cut off power immediately to handle abnormal conditions and prevent electric leakage and short circuits. Avoid frequent startup and shutdown during daily use to reduce compressor wear. Even during off-seasons, start the unit for 10–15 minutes every two weeks to rotate fans and motors and prevent mechanical jamming and rust from long static storage.
Moisture and corrosion prevention is especially important. During humid seasons and rainy periods, run fan-only mode for 10 minutes after shutdown to evaporate residual moisture inside evaporators and air ducts, resisting mold, bacterial proliferation and odor generation. For workshops and warehouses exposed to mild corrosive fumes, wipe the unit shell regularly and maintain dry ventilation to slow metal component rust. Cut off main power supply before long-term shutdown and cover air grilles to block dust and moisture ingress. Consistent routine maintenance can greatly reduce major overhaul frequency and preserve stable performance of the unit.
