Compared with traditional split air conditioners, fan coil units have significant advantages in energy efficiency, especially in multi-room and large-space applications.

First, fan coil units support independent temperature control for each room. Users can adjust the temperature or turn off the unit in unoccupied rooms separately, avoiding the energy waste caused by the whole system operation of traditional central air conditioning. Second, modern fan coil units are equipped with energy-saving EC motors and multi-speed fans, which can adjust the airflow according to the actual cooling/heating demand, reducing unnecessary power consumption. In heating mode, fan coil units can work with low-temperature hot water sources, such as air source heat pumps, to achieve efficient heating with lower energy consumption than electric heaters.

For commercial buildings such as hotels and offices, where different rooms have different usage times, the independent control feature of fan coil units can significantly reduce overall energy costs, making them a cost-effective choice for long-term use.
