How Does Kasuo Fan Coil Unit Work? Working Principle Explained

Kasuo fan coil unit (FCU) is a core terminal device connected to central air conditioning units, and its working principle is simple and efficient. The whole system relies on circulating chilled or hot water to realize indoor cooling and heating.

Inside every fan coil unit, there are three key parts: a circulating fan, a heat exchange coil and an air filter. When the system starts running, the fan continuously draws indoor air and pushes it through the filter to remove dust and impurities. The filtered air then flows across the metal coil, where cold or hot water from the central air conditioning unit keeps circulating inside.

Heat exchange takes place here. For cooling mode, the chilled water lowers the temperature of the passing air. For heating mode, hot water warms the air instead. The treated air is finally blown out through central air conditioner air outlets to adjust the room temperature.

Both vertical exposed fan coil units and horizontal exposed fan coil units follow this identical working principle. Their difference only lies in installation ways and appearance. Thanks to this mature structure, FCUs operate stably, produce low noise and support independent temperature control in separate rooms, making them widely used in hotels, offices and residential buildings.
