Generally speaking, Air Conditioner will not take up a large amount of outdoor space. Whether in household or commercial scenarios, the equipment has compact size and flexible installation forms with low space occupation rate. It can fully adapt to outdoor space conditions of most buildings such as ordinary residential buildings, apartments, shops and factories, and will not occupy a large amount of public space or affect building appearance and passage.

For small household Air Conditioner for daily family use, the size of outdoor unit is basically consistent with household central air conditioners and high-power air conditioner outdoor units, featuring small size and little floor occupation. The conventional outdoor unit of household Air Conditioner is about 80cm×60cm×55cm in length, width and height with light weight and regular structure. It can be installed in multiple ways, directly hung on outdoor walls, below bay windows, or placed at balcony corners, air conditioner mounting positions or idle space in yards. A single outdoor unit only needs less than 0.5 square meters of installation space. There is no need for special site reconstruction or reserved large open space. It can fully utilize the original idle mounting positions of buildings without occupying usable space such as courtyards, corridors and roads, making it very friendly to small apartments and high-rise residential buildings.

It has prominent space advantages compared with traditional heating equipment. Gas wall-hung boilers are installed indoors, yet matched smoke exhaust pipelines and valve equipment occupy wall space, and smoke outlets need large reserved ventilation areas. Coal-fired and oil-fired boilers not only require special outdoor equipment machine rooms, but also need reserved space for fuel stacking, ventilation, heat dissipation and exhaust emission, with floor area ranging from several square meters to more than ten square meters. Air Conditioner has no smoke exhaust, fuel storage or auxiliary equipment. Only one outdoor unit can complete operation without matched auxiliary space, greatly improving space utilization rate.

For commercial scenarios such as shops, office buildings and small factories, although high-power commercial Air Conditioner outdoor units are larger than household models, they still will not occupy massive space. Commercial Air Conditioner can be installed flexibly according to site conditions. Most of them adopt floor-mounted installation and can be placed on building roofs, dead corners of roof surfaces, idle space beside buildings or corners of factory areas without occupying main business, production or passage space. Meanwhile, commercial units can be arranged centrally or stacked. The installation positions can be reasonably planned to maximize outdoor space saving and adapt to space restrictions of various commercial sites.

In addition, Air Conditioner boasts strong installation adaptability, and installation schemes can be adjusted according to users' site conditions. Wall-mounted installation is available if wall space is sufficient, and floor installation is applicable for adequate ground space. It has no fixed site requirements with simple and neat pipelines, avoiding pipeline occupation of roads or abrupt equipment taking up space. The equipment produces no dust, noise disturbance or exhaust gas during operation, and will not affect surrounding environment and the use of public space after installation.

A tiny number of ultra-high-power industrial Air Conditioner units have relatively large sizes, but such equipment is mostly used in large factories and industrial parks with sufficient site space. As special supporting equipment, it still occupies less space and features more flexible layout compared with traditional industrial boiler equipment. Overall, Air Conditioner will not occupy a great deal of outdoor space in all scenarios and is an HVAC device with strong space adaptability.
